All State does NOT cover HPDE events

A friend of mine banged his car at a HPDE recently and did quite a bit of damage to it. He called AllState and told them what happened. The inspector came, costed it and said no problem. The extra premium seems to be 80 bucks every six months which is amazing. They seem to have an incident based premium raise which isn't based on the cost of the incident.

3 days later, they phoned back and said "Not covered". They changed their policy in 2005 to specifically exclude any accident on a racing surface or a timed event. So, he's out of luck.

Moral here is get track insurance.

Update:
Maybe not, they called again for "more information" and have routed it to a manager for approval. Will post more when I know more.

Nope,
They didn't cover it in the end. They don't cover any accidents on a racing surface or timed events.
