Closures and parallel extensions to Java

Google reader threw this at me today. Eugene having read the latest multicore blog entry here put this response together showing how new code could leverage closures along with the parallel extensions coming with Java 7.

This is cool and should work nicely for clever programmers on new code but we still need to keep working on parallelizing existing code thats already been written for the newer processor architectures. As I pointed out in a comment to the his entry, while it looks like I'm complaining and not offering any constructive input, I/we at IBM are, of course, working on this and other aspects of parallelizing Java better from lots of points of view. I just can't put what we are doing in to a public forum like a blog just yet.
